NUBI AJOU 'Cooking Class' - May 15th, 2026 On May 15th, the Cooking Class was held at Yulgok Hall, bringing together students from NUBI and GSIS for a hands-on exploration of Korean food culture. With a total of 46 participants, the event was designed to foster natural connection between international and Korean students through the shared experience of making one of Korea's most beloved dishes — Kimbap. Before diving into the kitchen, participants warmed up with two engaging game sessions. The first, "Master of Kimbap," was a team relay game using colorful ingredient blocks and skewers, where players raced to recreate Kimbap recipes displayed on screen. The second was a Mystery Box tactile quiz, in which team representatives reached into a box and described the texture of hidden ingredients — such as sliced carrots, fish cake, or canned tuna — while teammates shouted out their guesses. Game rankings then determined the order in which teams could choose their side dishes, including tteokbokki, ramyeon, miyeok soup, and more.Following a short break, the main event began: Cooking Time. MCs walked participants through each step of the Kimbap-making process, and teams got to work at their tables, spreading rice, layering fillings, and carefully rolling everything together with bamboo mats. Once rolled, participants moved to the cutting station — staffed at all times for safety — to slice their creations and enjoy a tasting session with their teammates. The event wrapped up with an award ceremony recognizing the "Today's Cooking Champion," with one winner each from the NUBI and GSIS sides selected for the most beautifully crafted Kimbap. Overall, the Cooking Class proved to be a memorable blend of culture, laughter, and teamwork — one roll at a time!
