In this paper, we tried to investigate the effect of verbal interpretation techniques in psychoanalysis on the psychology of psychotic patients. Accordingly, the researcher first tried to examine the causes and background factors of “word salad,” that is, disorganized language in psychotic patients, through Gregory Bateson’s “double bind” theory. In addition, the development of communication and the development of concepts were examined in Vygotsky’s theory and the developmental theories of psychoanalysis, and this was also briefly examined from a neurological point of view. And finally, the meaning and function of ‘interpretation’ performed in language in psychoanalytic counseling with a psychotic patient using disorganized language was examined through Wilfred R. Bion’s theory. The researcher hopes that these small studies will contribute to the understanding and treatment of psychotic patients, and hope that therapeutic progress will be made along with multidisciplinary studies on psychotic patients in the future.

Transference Patterns of Pervert Subject and the Role of Psychoanalyst in Psychoanalytic Clinical Practice

??? ?? (Multilingual Abstract)

In the clinical practice of psychoanalysis, pervert subject exhibits unusual transference patterns different from those of psychotic and neurotic subjects, who attend therapy to alleviate the distress associated with the symptoms of their conditions or widen their understanding of themselves. The psychoanalyst is taken aback by the pervert subject’s transference, where he obtains gratification from damaging the role and function of psychoanalysis as the symbolic big Other and condemning the contradictions and limitations of reality, losing the analyst role to be his partner in embodying his fantasies, resulting in an unconscious collusive relationship. When such perverse transference is activated during clinical psychoanalysis, how should the analyst function, and what role should be assumed? To answer these questions, we investigate from Freud-Lacanian and Kleinian psychoanalytic perspectives various patterns of perverse transference, which have been reported in psychoanalytic case study literature, and the role of the analyst in working with such transference patterns. In order for the pervert subject to be able to accept symbolic castration and move on from perverse transference to be capable of desiring as one questions one’s own identity, the analyst must be capable of rejecting satisfaction in the imaginary domain, which is demanded by the subject, and maintain the position as a symbolic big Other. The analyst must also be capable of recognizing the collusive relationship established by the analyst’s countertransference and the perverse transference, and of escaping from the role of a partner unconsciously demanded by the subject, and of interpreting the dynamics of transference that are occurring in the Here and Now. While exploring these questions, we could better understand the difficulties stemming from the perverse transference condition which we faced in clinical psychoanalytical practice. We hope that the paper present an integrated treatment direction that is practically applicable to colleagues in the Korean psychoanalysis clinical field who may experience similar difficulties with meeting the pervert subject.

??? ?? (Multilingual Abstract)

This study aims to examine online SNS(Social Networking Service) and short message chatting from a psychoanalytic perspective, as they are increasingly influential and dominant in modern communication. Originally, the Internet served as a mere ‘tool’ for communication and information acquisition, but it has gradually assumed the role of a ‘place’ where unconscious desires find expression. Consequently, a conceptualized online virtual world has emerged for modern individuals, necessitating the application of Lacan’s structural theory of the imaginary, symbolic, and real in distinct ways. Online communication methods are characterized by the exclusion of immediacy in terms of the utterance of messages and the termination of meaning, broadcasting effects, infinite repetition, recording of the process, and omnipotence of the subject, and as a result, the subject creates a more complete image of himself in a form that denies the lack of the real world online. Here, the subject regresses to the mirror stage by entering into an interest relationship with the virtual image. At the same time, the subject’s virtual image must be gazed at by a third party, and the subject’s image, which is not recognized by the other, is destroyed and resurrected. In the end, the subject repeats the passive experience of losing existence or regresses to the previous stage, without having had the active experience of actively accepting his or her absence. The temporal gap between the initial signifier and the terminating signifier has an irregular and unpredictable character, often forcing metonymy rather than metaphor. The exclusion of ‘immediacy’ in online communication has been associated with arrivalist symptoms, as the possibility of ‘unconscious intentionality through slips of the tongue’ and ‘subject imperfection’ is completely controlled. The significance of this study is that it is a psychoanalytic examination of the ‘digitalization of communication’ that has been accelerating in recent years and provides a discussion point for problems and directions in the convergence of traditional communication methods through face-to-face contact and new digital online communication methods.

??? ?? (Multilingual Abstract)

Bion traced the causes of psychopathology to disturbances in thinking that manifested themselves in the phenomena of the analytic session and sought to cure them through the development of thinking. Bion devised greed as a psychomotor tool for the development of thought. In his later years, he introduced O, the absolute truth that exists behind phenomena, and called it a true psychoanalytic object and emotional experience. He regarded the Grid as a mechanical device and found in the emotions the dynamics that moved the device. Further, he suggests that emotional turbulence is the point at which those working in mental health must work, but does not elaborate this idea. What is emotional turbulence and how is it used clinically? Focusing on the phenomena and emotions within the sessions, the literature on the Grid was reviewed by dividing it into three parts: encountering O, knowing O, and becoming O. Emotional turbulence has a certain recognizable form, like turbulence. The causes of turbulence are the expulsion of the beta elements(encounter with O, resistance to becoming O), LHK connection (knowledge of O), and reaching common communication (becoming O), but the form varies from point to point and the place of appearance is the mind of each analyst and the analysand. In order to provide a example of clinical application, two clinical vignettes were presented and analyzed. Events that occur in an analytic session are all emotional. However, sometimes the emotional turbulence in the analyst’s mind creates difficulties. This study, which divides all the past processes of the analysis session into points of the Grid in terms of emotional turbulence, shows that transforming these difficulties is itself an analytic process.

his study was motivated by the discovery of a lack of the first sort of identification with the mirror stage in the symptoms of autism, and the question of what implications Lacan’s mirror stage and optical models have for autism clinical practice. This article examines the impact of Lacan’s mirror stage and optical model on the structuring of the psyche, and discusses Brenner’s work on the unique identification of autistic people with four optical models of their relationship with mirrors, a variation on Lacan’s optical model. Through these discussions, the researcher suggests that the symptoms of autism may be due to the inability to acquire identification with the mirror, and that autistic people have different pathways of identification in order to cohere their fragmented bodies. Based on Brenner’s four variants of the optical model, I examined the unique identification and symptoms of autism in each model. Based on this, the researcher presented forms of identification corresponding to the four optical models. I believe that this will contribute to the study of more appropriate interventions in psychoanalytic clinical practice based on the uniqueness of autism.

??? ?? (Multilingual Abstract)

This study explores the unique mechanisms, causes, structure, and treatment of obsessional neurosis based on the psychoanalytic theories of Freud and Lacan to answer the question, ‘How is obsessional neurosis understood and treated in psychoanalysis as opposed to psychiatry and psychology?’. Obsessional neurosis is essentially a layered defense mechanism against excessive experiences of pleasure, and in addition to repression, it develops a variety of other complex defenses, including isolation, undoing, reaction formation, displacement. The etiological cause of the formation of obsessional neurosis is the fixation and regression in the anal stage, where the splitting of impulses occurs, which explains why obsessional neurosis patients are plagued by intense ambivalence, guilt, and superego. The structure of obsessional neurosis is a subcategory of Lacan’s neurotic structure, which discusses the questions of death and existence posed by the Other, the fantasy of becoming a complete subject, the slave’s paradoxical keeping alive of the Other as revealed in the dialectic of master and slave, and the defense against the Other’s jouissance and impossible desire stemming from the dysfunctional triangle with parents. The treatment of obsessional neurosis involves a combination of primordial experience and affect, a process of adjustment, transference, and interpretation of the relationship between subject and object, hystericalization of the obsessive, and confrontation with the desires of the Other through a change in the analyst’s position. Clinical implications derived from the above include the positioning of the analyst as differentiated from the obsessional’ parents, the reconstruction of symbols stuck in the anal stage and dealing with aggression using negative transference.

??? ?? (Multilingual Abstract)

This paper studies the ‘drinking craving’ state of alcoholics and their recovery through the lens of Bion’s concepts of ‘no-thing’ and ‘no-present’. In particular, this study analyzed the ‘no-thing‘ and ‘no-present‘ that appeared in the relapse experience of a patient who repeatedly relapsed three times in the course of of recovery for four years. The data were based on report of the relapses. Alcoholics often relapse due to drinking cravings, even after they have recognized their drinking problem and decided to stay sober. This is because they have intense cravings for alcohol that they cannot willingly avoid. Drinking cravings are often related to the alcoholic’s emotional wounds or weaknesses. It can also refer to the emotional pain that caused them to become dependent on alcohol, a pain that they were trying to numb through drinking. The researcher found that drinking cravings in alcoholism cases are consistent with Bion’s concepts of‘no-thing and no-present’. Furthermore, the individual’s attitudes towards the concept, ‘those who experience pain and those who suffered pain’ is very relevant to understanding the relapse and recovery process of alcoholics. This study aims to contribute to a deeper psychoanalytic understanding of alcoholics’ craving for alcohol and the recovery process, and to the search for fruitful ways to help them in their recovery.

??? ?? (Multilingual Abstract)

Transference is a central concept in psychoanalysis. But Freud, who introduced the concept, also developed the concept to include false connections, dislocations and so on. Recently, the concept has been expanded to include total transference and here-and-now transference. As a result, it is not uncommon for the concept to be misunderstood by novice analysts and therapists in clinical situation. Even experienced therapists could misuse and misunderstand the concept in communication. Therefore, this study aims to identify the biological basis of transference phenomena and narrow the focus of the concept of transference by examining neuroscience research developed since Freud, and to provide more solid foundation for the interpretation of transference. To this end, we will first review the concept of transference developed since Freud, and then examine the neuroscientific research on how transference can be understood, and think about how to understand the mechanisms for interpreting transference through language. As a result, transference in the neuroscientific sense can be seen as being caused by perceptions and prediction systems embodied prior to cognition, such as mirror neurons for social communication, and interpretation can be viewed as linking the association of these neural signals to the association of linguistic symbols.

??? ?? (Multilingual Abstract)

This study aims to investigate the development process of symbolization and contribution of fairy tale, in the treatment of an acute psychosis case. Symbolization is a process deeply connected to unconscious phantasies and internal object- relations. This process helps individuals transform and manage anxiety, integrate the experience, and form subject. The potential space is an intermediate area where intermediate experiences, which are both the internal world and the external world, occur. Within this space, an intermediate object emerges. Although it is not a true symbol, it is used as a symbolic means to process the conflict and anxiety of separation from the maternal object. Through these considerations and the analysis of a clinical case, the development of symbolization and contribution of fairy tale, an extended intermediate object is elucidated. First, the symbol develops in the potential space that is formed in the treatment scene and evolves from symbolic equation, which is concrete and equated to things, into abstracted and elaborated symbolization. Eventually, symbolization develops into consciousness and verbalization of its meaning. Second, in the potential space, the emergence of an expanded transitional object, such as a fairy tale, which co-transformed under the collaboration of the therapist and the client, contributes to the development of symbolization. Afterwards, symbolization gradually appears more actively through other symbols, dreams, and transference, etc. Third, the development of symbolization contributes to the client’s therapeutic transformation. In other words, by helping to move from paranoid-schizoid experiences to depressive experiences or to work through depressive position, the subject is established and leads to changes in the internal world and interpersonal relationships. This study finds its significance in reviewing the development process of symbolization in the psychoanalytic theories of Klein, Segal, and Winnicott; in demonstrating how the expanded transitional object of a fairy tale and its narrative transformation contribute to symbolization; and in establishing through a clinical case that the development of symbolization leads to therapeutic transformation.

??? ?? (Multilingual Abstract)

In recent years, there has been a growing movement to integrate psychology and spirituality in psychotherapy. Following this trend, modern psychoanalysis emphasizes intersubjectivity and has come to pay attention to the infinity and mystery of the human mind beyond the unconscious. This is because conventional Freud's scientific and rational approach alone cannot fully capture the counselee's existence. Wilfred Bion supplemented the blind spots of psychoanalysis by redefining the existing ‘psychoanalysis as a mystical science’. It was an unconventional attempt to encompass both scientific and mystical attitudes. Through these attempts, modern psychoanalysis has come a step closer to Christian spirituality. Wilfred Bion's theories, which are at the pinnacle of modern psychoanalysis, have many connections to Christian spirituality. In particular, Thomas Merton's contemplative life practice is connected to the clinical attitude of the analyst that Bion emphasizes. In this paper, I will focus on Merton's concepts of ‘solitude’ and ‘silence’ in contemplation, and explore their connection to Wilfred Bion's emphasis on the analyst's ‘state of being without memory or desire’ and ‘rêverie’. As Merton emphasizes, ‘Solitude’ and ‘silence’ are not withdrawal from the world. Rather, it is a aspiration to courageously face one's dark side and become one with God. Just as a prayer can create inner space by completely letting go of his or her desires, an analyst can create space to accept a client by suppressing his or her own ‘memories and desires’ as much as possible. Bion believed that he could only understand his counselees when he had suppressed his own memories and desires as much as possible. Bion explains the concept of ‘rêverie’ as a state in which a mother is passionately preoccupied with her infant in state of being without memory or desire. That is, like infants, clients desperately want to be able to make conscious and transform their unaware emotional experiences within the analyst's the containing environment of rêverie. To participate in this active communication, Analyst must be able to persevere the dark night of uncertainty arising from their counselee through their own ‘rêverie’. The counselee, through this process, ultimately internalizes a new mental function known as the a-function from the analyst. Through this, the counselee can think and dream about himself and others, and they can stand alone in the world. The prayer must be able to shed their false self and endure failure and frustration in order to have a true encounter with God. In clinical practice, analysts must also make the same effort for their counselee. This contemplative life practice can contribute positively to refining the analyst's capability and creating sufficient psychological space.

This study delves into Bion's concept of O, with a specific focus on its attributes such as divinity, infinity, commonality, and the fundamental foundation. Organisms are regarded as both passive entities, incapable of fully comprehending the entirety they are a part of, and active entities, demonstrating individual differences within their scope. The study introduces the concept of 'Encapsulation' to elucidate the existential condition of organisms, involving a dialectic between the finite and the infinite, the active and the passive. Organisms are enclosed by, and simultaneously serve as, the fundamental foundation for subordinate elements. The study posits two types of infinity to abstract O's characteristics: the 'ultimate infinity' and the 'in-between infinity.' The latter involves a dynamic interplay where the finite and the infinite encapsulate each other, with a boundary that evolves through emotional experiences (L, H, K) driven by curiosity. Curiosity propels the transition between saturated and unsaturated states, necessitating the subject to confront deficiency, uncertainty, and anxiety. Contact with O incites curiosity, fostering a cyclical dynamic between saturated and unsaturated states, oscillating between paranoid-schizoid and depressive positions, ultimately leading towards 'becoming O.' This study re-evaluates O's abstract comprehension from mathematical and philosophical standpoints, presenting a novel interpretative framework to navigate its theoretical complexities.

In this study, in order to understand serial murder psychoanalytically, the risk factors accumulated before becoming a serial killer were categorized into child abuse, delinquency in adolescence, trigger factors for serial murder in adulthood, and full-blown serial murder. And as psychoanalytical themes that are revealed at the core at each stage of a serial killer's life, 'distinction between self and object,' 'developmental conditions of guilt,' 'fantasy and acting out,' 'reactive aggression,' and 'negative containment,' including Freud, It was discussed sequentially from the perspectives of Klein, Winnicott, Kohut, and Bion. In this study, it was assumed that the above themes are the core psychoanalytical themes that appear in the crime of serial murder, and that these psychoanalytical themes accumulated at each stage of life development are ultimately revealed in the criminal act of serial murder. Based on the results of this study, this study insist that active and in-depth intervention be necessary in the period of child abuse earlier than the delinquent adolescence period. And it was suggested that this intervention go beyond simply cognitive-behavioral therapy and that psychoanalytical treatment intervention in the form of long-term object provision that can reconstruct the child's collapsed internal object world be effective.

This review paper comprehensively examines the phenomenon and causes of sexual boundary violations, defined as “any kind of physical contact occurring in the context of a therapeutic relationship for the purpose of erotic pleasure.” The researcher extensively reviewed the works by Glen Gabbard and Andrea Celenza, two authorities who have contributed to the leading current discourse of sexual boundary violations. Sexual boundary violations are an ongoing social issue in Korea. Such acts not only inflict psychological harm on patients, similar to incest, but also erode public trust in the mental health field, ultimately depriving potential patients of treatment. This paper first examines four case types of sexual boundary violations: 1)psychotic disorders, 2) predatory psychopathy and paraphilias, 3) lovesickness, and 4) masochistic surrender. It then delves into the psychoanalytic causes of each type. Finally, drawing on Freud, it argues that erotic transference and counter-transference are prevalent in psychoanalytic practice both in theory and in reality and function as underlying causes inherent within the psychoanalytic setting itself. This paper aims to enhance understanding of sexual boundary violations to ultimately reduce their occurrence.

Key Words: sexual boundary violations, therapeutic relationship, Gabbard, Celenza, psychoanalysis, Freud, erotic transference, erotic countertransference

The study aims to explore from a neuropsychoanalytic perspective the emotional structures and subject impairments in complex trauma that result from repeated and prolonged traumatic experiences. Existing treatments for PTSD are primarily based on exposure-based techniques that focus on single-event trauma and have been criticized for their limitations in addressing the core symptom clusters of CPTSD, including emotion regulation, the sense of self, and relationship functioning. Using the diagnostic criteria for CPTSD in the ICD-11 as a theoretical framework, the study examines the emotional circuit damages and self disintegrations in complex trauma patients, based on Jaak Panksepp’s basic emotion system theory and Mark Solms’ emotion-consciousness theory. The analysis investigates that complex trauma manifests itself as a structural pathology involving emotion-consciousness dissociation, self-identity disintegration, and repetitive acting-outs. It reveals that the primary neurological bases of complex trauma are the dysfunctions in the prefrontal lobe, hippocampus, and amygdala as well as the chronic overactivations of PANIC/GRIEF, FEAR, and RAGE circuits. Psychoanalysis suggests the possibilities of reorganizing emotional circuits and promoting subjective integration through interpretation, verbalization, and working through. These methods can be combined with neuroplasticity-based recovery processes. The study presents a possible link between complex trauma treatments and neuropsychoanalysis that has not yet been adequately explored, either nationally or internationally. It also revisits the theoretical and clinical contributions of psychoanalysis to holistic recovery processes involving emotional and cognitive self-integration.

??? ?? (Multilingual Abstract)

This study investigates the psychological structure of homosexuality through psychoanalytic theories, with a focus on the dynamics of the mother-son relationship. By analyzing Xavier Dolan’s autobiographical film I Killed My Mother (2009), Mammy (2014) the paper explores how homosexual desire is shaped by early attachment, narcissistic identification, and the symbolic function of the father. Drawing on the theories of Freud and Lacan, homosexuality is interpreted not as a mere sexual orientation but as a complex formation rooted in narcissism, castration anxiety, and symbolic failure. The absence or dysfunction of the paternal function is shown to delay the subject’s entry into the symbolic order, reinforcing fixation on the maternal figure and identification with the imaginary phallus. Rather than pathologizing homosexuality, this paper suggests a structural understanding through psychoanalysis that addresses the subject’s desire, unconscious fantasy, and identification processes. Ultimately, the study emphasizes the importance of interpreting the maternal relationship within homosexual psychic formation as a symbolic and affective dimension that offers deeper insight into subjectivity and identity formation.

??? ?? (Multilingual Abstract)

This paper explores pastoral counseling through a hermeneutical dialogue between Freud’s psychoanalysis and Tillich’s theology, focusing on the existential struggles of inner division and guilt. Freud’s “hermeneutics of suspicion” reveals how self-destructive guilt emerges from the conflict between instinctual drives and the superego, as well as from the death drive. This demonstrates a state of despair from which individuals cannot escape through their own strength, highlighting the need for transcendent grace. Tillich’s “hermeneutics of trust” responds by interpreting sin as “estrangement” from the ground of being and presents a theological answer to this existential deadlock: unconditional grace, given irrespective of human merit, which alone can break the tyranny of the harsh superego. Through this dialectical dialogue, the study reimagines the counseling subject not as a fixed entity but as homo interpretandus - a human continually reshaped between drive and grace. It proposes a pastoral counseling model centered on the cyclical process of confession-interpretation-acceptance, through which clients can resolve self-destructive guilt and affirm their identity within grace. The goal of pastoral counseling, then, extends beyond problem-solving to a deeper reconstitution of the self. In the counseling process, the client is no longer a passive object of analysis but an active dynamic subject who tells the story of life, undergoes dual interpretation (analysis and testimony), and is ultimately reborn through unconditional acceptance. This integrative framework unites the languages of depth psychology and ontological theology, presenting a comprehensive model of pastoral counseling for understanding and healing human suffering.

??? ?? (Multilingual Abstract)

This study aims to explore the interrelationship between transference, savoir, and love based on Lacan's redefinition of the concept of transference. This study examines Lacan’s treatment of transference in Remarks on Transference and Seminar VIII on Plato’s Symposium, as well as Moncayo’s Lacanian psychoanalytic practice. Specifically, the paper argues that Freud's counter-transference and ignorance in the Dora case ironically became an opportunity for Dora to establish a 'new passage'¨Da desire to know¨Dallowing her to break free from the existing repetitive situation. Connecting transference with love through Plato's discussion, Lacan posits that love possesses the nature of 'love for the unknown (amathia),' which originates from a fundamental lack. Transference begins with the analysand's act of supposing knowledge in the analyst as the Suject Suppose savoir (S.s.S). This dynamic force guides the subject toward the place of unknown knowing. The ultimate goal of analysis is not to be bound to the analyst but to be dedicated to one's own desire. In conclusion, transference is a creative force that leads the subject, recognizing their lack, toward unknown knowing. This study offers new clinical insights into transference from a Lacanian perspective, proposing the potential for lived experiences to progress beyond fixed meanings toward the place of unknown knowing.

??? ?? (Multilingual Abstract)

This study proposes a “psychoanalytic integrative model of dissociation-based trauma treatment,” developed in response to the limitations of single-incident exposure- and memory-processing–oriented approaches in complex trauma and dissociative disorders. To this end, international trauma treatment guidelines and major trauma-focused and body-based interventions are reviewed, and the historical genealogy of psychoanalytic trauma theory is examined to identify Ferenczi, Bion, and Bromberg as key theorists. Their work is understood to share a common framework that conceptualizes trauma as a dissociative structure of discontinuity and treatment as the reconstruction of such discontinuity within the analytic relationship, while differing in focal level and mode of intervention. Drawing on this, the present model reorganizes their core concepts into three dissociative strata—relation/language/ethics, thinking and symbolization, and self-state coexistence—and derives corresponding clinical principles. Based on differential assessment of patients’ dissociative organization, the model proposes a phased yet recursive allocation of witnessing, containing, and fostering coexistence. It offers explicit criteria for selecting, modulating, and postponing interventions to reduce the risk of retraumatization, specifies the analyst’s stance and interactional style as central therapeutic factors, and articulates an integrative clinical framework that connects psychoanalytic trauma treatment with contemporary evidence-based paradigms.

??? ?? (Multilingual Abstract)

Neuropsychoanalysis has emerged as a new field bridging psychoanalysis and contemporary neuroscience, providing a systematic foundation for Freud’s lifelong pursuit of scientific psychoanalytic theory. This study aims to introduce quantitative electroencephalography (qEEG) as an experimental methodology for investigating the brain within neuropsychoanalysis, and to address common methodological validity issues alongside practical solutions. Major concerns include the indiscriminate use of secondary processed EEG metrics with undisclosed algorithms, neglect of volume conduction effects, and oversimplified interpretation of individuals by uniformly applying normative databases. To overcome these limitations, we propose a human-centered analytical framework incorporating source-level estimation of neural signals, network-based connectivity analysis, and mixed-model approaches. As an applied example of this mixed-model strategy, latent profile analysis (LPA) was conducted on EEG power spectral density (PSD) features, identifying four latent neural profiles. These profiles were then compared with six-factor personality traits, revealing significant associations with Extraversion and Openness. The methodological reflections and empirical findings presented here are expected to serve as valuable foundational guidelines for implementing EEG-based experimental approaches in neuropsychoanalytic research.

This study reconceptualizes melancholia not as a mere cluster of negative mood states or cognitive distortions, but as a structural pathology resulting from the convergence of affective catastrophe following loss and the ego’s failed narrative binding of that affect. Building on Freud’s concepts of introjection and self-reproach, the paper integrates affective neuroscience and neuropsychoanalysis particularly Panksepp’s model of primary — affective systems and Solms’s account of affective consciousness within the predictive brain framework. The core pathology of melancholia is conceptualized as double affective paralysis, a condition in which chronic overactivation of the PANIC/GRIEF system and collapse of the SEEKING system occur simultaneously. Under this condition, the pain of loss remains unrelieved while the affective pathways that would allow movement toward new objects, meanings, or relationships are structurally blocked. As a result, undifferentiated pain is reorganized by the ego into a moralized narrative of guilt and self-punishment, giving rise to a sadistic superego configuration. The paper analyzes this transformation as a neuro-affective and narrative process through which pain becomes organized as guilt. Clinically, the study proposes that the central task in the treatment of melancholia is not the correction of guilt or self-blame, but the restoration of conditions under which grief can emerge and regain its orientation toward external objects. This integrative framework offers a renewed theoretical and clinical understanding of melancholia grounded in affective systems, narrative organization, and relational transformation.

??? ?? (Multilingual Abstract)

The article traces the trajectory of Jacques Lacan’s theory of psychosis as it transitions from the early perspective of structural discontinuity to the later perspective of continuity based on the Borromean knots, and examines Jacques-Alain Miller’s concept of ‘ordinary psychosis,’ which inherits this legacy. In his early theory, Lacan emphasized the structural discontinuity between neurosis and psychosis by establishing the foreclosure of the ‘Name-of-the-Father’ as the core mechanism of psychosis. However, the concepts of the Borromean knots and the sinthome in his later theory allowed for a rethinking of psychic structures in terms of the continuity of knotting. This theoretical shift provides a clinical foundation for understanding subjects experiencing atypical suffering in contemporary society, where the guarantee of the Other has weakened. Miller introduced the concept of ‘ordinary psychosis’ to explain these cases in contemporary clinical practice that cannot be fully covered by Lacan’s theory of psychosis. The ‘ordinary psychosis’ is not the addition of a diagnostic category, but an epistemological framework that translates Lacan’s later topology into contemporary clinical indices. Lacan’s concept of ‘extimity’ manifests in ordinary psychosis as the concrete symptom of ‘externality’ across social, bodily, and subjective levels, enabling the detection of subtle disorders that exist even without the explicit triggering of psychosis. The article demonstrates that the ‘compensatory make-believe’ devised by the psychotic subject in ordinary psychosis as a substitute for the foreclosed ‘Name-of-the-Father’ functionally reproduces the binding function of the fourth ring performed by the sinthome under psychotic conditions. This study argues that ‘ordinary psychosis’ is a flexible clinical framework that supports the subject’s original invention in response to the lack of the Other in contemporary society. By expanding the clinical practice of psychosis from a narrow symptom-centered approach to the subject’s unique way of knotting, the article contributes to establishing a theoretical basis for stabilizing the subject in contemporary Lacanian psychoanalytic practice.

??? ?? (Multilingual Abstract)

Intersubjectivity refers to the constant interaction of two differently organized subjects. In John 14, the mutual relationship between the Father and the Son can be said to be the archetype of all intersubjectiveness at the human level. Just as humans were created in the image and likeness of God, God is connected to humans through the incarnation, and accept the living God and confirm oneness with Him through the Holy Communion, intersubjectivity is the relationship between God and humans, mother and infant, analyst and client. , It is the essence of human life experienced in all things, including nature and humans. This paper seeks to reveal that spirituality and psychoanalysis have complementary possibilities in understanding and healing humans by examining Matthew Fox's concept of spirituality of mercy and Bion's concept of becoming O. Each school of psychoanalysis has changed the paradigm of psychoanalysis by accepting the theory of intersubjectivity since the 1990s. After classical psychoanalysis, object relations theory and self-psychology took a new look at psychoanalytic theory with a focus on relationships. Bion emphasized the mystery of relationships and believed that the intersubjective experience of containing and containing reaches the truth of an individual and causes transformation and growth. Matthew Fox emphasizes that practicing mercy contained in spirituality means living as the unity of the Trinity, which is mutually indwelling, mutually circulating, and interpenetrating. God and humans are distinct beings, but in the space of love where they inhabit each other through the Holy Spirit, humans achieve the mystery of becoming one with God. The basis of the Lord's incarnation is God's love and mercy to share God Himself. This is a point that is in harmony with Bion's concept that the analyst must enter into the mystery of the containing and containing relationship in which his own unconscious contacts the client's unconscious in a state of reverie. Humans are beings who ‘become’ in a dialectical relationship of mutual penetration and mutual creation. The experience of mystical union with Jesus, where the sick and the weak are connected through pain and suffering, and the intersubjective encounter within psychoanalysis transforms pain and accompanies growth. By repeating connection and separation from others, our spirit grows, and we can practice mercy as our lives by willingly participating in the suffering of others. The meeting of two subjects opens up the possibility of transformation for each subject and creates a third space that expands the horizon of existence, thereby achieving growth and transformation. From a spiritual perspective, just as accepting Christ through the Holy Communion is a mystical experience that promotes change, psychoanalytic treatment can be said to be an intersubjective mystery that promotes change and growth in the inner world through interpretation and new relationship experiences.
